Back up your Big Day with a Bridal Emergency Kit!

By Team Shaadi Ka Laddu, 30 April 2017

We know just how stressful planning a wedding can be and on the off chance that you forget some of the finer details, we’ve got your back. In the run up to your wedding week, make sure you pack away a bag or kit with some essentials that could be needed last minute. Put your maid of honor or sister, whose duties include keeping you organized and happy, in charge of managing this bag! Read our blog Sister of the Bride: The Complete Guide to Winning at Weddings for more tips.

  • First and foremost, pack a stash of pins. Everything from bobby pins to safety pins, hair clips and rubber bands of all kinds are often invaluable in a dressing room. If anything pops open or slips off, you can efficiently keep your tacks at hand. Throw in a sewing kit just to be sure.

  • Pack some extra lingerie, preferably a comfortable pair, just incase you’re completely miserable under your bridal attire. You can also carry additional panty liners and bra straps with you, in case of emergency.

  • Hand towels, wet wipes and tissue paper are mandatory for your bridal kit and not just for when you’re doing your makeup, but also to ensure that you’re covered in all your emotional moments.

  • Pack up your most important makeup essentials for a quick touch up as you rush through multiple functions. Two basic lipsticks, concealer, face mask, mascara, double sided tape and kajal should be enough to keep you fresh.

  • Fix a bag for your hair products and appliances: We recommend you stash away hair serum, hair dryer, hairbrush and hair straightener or curler for your day.

  • If you’re sceptical of your dates, prep for your period with tampons. You must also pack away your favourite perfume, mouthwash and hand cream. Other must haves include cotton balls, hand sanitizer, mint and chewing gum. Also keep your favourite small snacks like granola, dry fruits or crackers handy.

  • You can keep some sneakers or flip flops at hand for when the heels become excruciating. We all know that eventually you just want to slip into a warm bathrobe and fluffy slippers so keep those backed up in your room.

  • Don’t forget to pack up your basics such as your phone charger, spectacles, battery back up and a big smile! You can also keep a list of urgent phone numbers written on a piece of paper in case the bag is lost or your phone runs out of battery.
